Down By The River Belinda and Malcolm

Their Perfect Romance:
We have known each other for a long time, but as things happen, it wasnt until we grew
up that we began to see each other in a different light. The day Malcolm proposed was
pretty special. I had celebrated my birthday a few days before and I have to admit that
I was kind of hoping for something special on that day. But a couple of days later, we
went to the Glasshouse Mountains on a bit of wine and cheese tasting outing as well as
doing some mountain walks. He said it was a belated birthday celebration but it became
the day Malcolm proposed and I said yes.
Their Ideal Wedding:
We got married at Snug Harbour overlooking the Brisbane River. We were married in the
gardens near the river, then our guests moved on to the terrace for drinks and hors
dors oeuvres while our photos were taken. Our reception was in the Harbour
Room with fantastic views of the river. Most of our guests and some of my
bridesmaids had come from interstate as well as other countries. This meant for about
two weeks before the wedding we were in celebration mode as loved ones kept
arriving. We even delayed our honeymoon in Hong Kong for a couple of weeks to enjoy
everyone's company just a little bit longer. The people who came to our wedding were
very important to us as they had all played a part in shaping our lives. Over the eleven
years we have been together, Malcolm and I have shared many memories with them so
as part of our wedding ceremony we had a slideshow. Not just the typical slideshow of
myself and Malcolm growing up and coming together, but we included photos of every
guest at the various stages of their lives as well, building up to everyone meeting
together for our wedding.
Their Unique Choices:
My dress was by Abbey Brides and, of course, it was perfect with its strapless bodice of beaded lace. Our photographer was Shaun Murray who was just fantastic. He was a key part to our celebrations from the start of the day to the finish. We were having our photos taken near all the elegant yachts at the marina. Some of those boats are actually peoples homes and a few invited us to come on board to have our photographs taken. Shaun was able to
do justice to this unexpected opportunity and we now have awesome photos.
Their Bridal Insights:
Delegate. Get rid of every responsibility before the wedding day, so that there is nothing for
you to do but enjoy. I was fortunate because of friends arriving way before the wedding
day, I had to have everything finalised a couple of weeks early. I am glad, because
I really experienced my wedding without any responsibility.
