It Doesn't Hurt to Dream Big

As you begin to plan your wedding, some questions arise quite early in the planning. The answer to one in particular plays a huge part in the rest of the decisions that have to be made. That question is: what is the theme of the day? 

Now, for some brides and grooms, their minds immediately go to simple and fuss-free, which isn't exactly a 'theme'; more a preference. Many brides and grooms know straight away that their wedding will be on a beach at sunset or in a quaint country church or an extravaganza in the heart of the city. For other couples, it is not so easy. So here's a helpful suggestion to help kick-start the creative juices for your wedding day.

Spend an afternoon together, whether it is relaxing at home or out somewhere peaceful, and start to dream. Share your thoughts, go as big and as 'out there' as you are both happy with. Build your wedding into your hearts and see it played out in your mind's eye. Write the big dream down and add details, finding out what you both love and hate, crafting your day into the day that reflects your journey or personalities.

Once you have your big dream nailed, look at it with realistic eyes, seeing what may not be viable or how creative you will need to be to pull it off.  As you add and take away the details, you are creating your wedding day blueprint. 

You can build an inspiration board around this, you can set up a web page or blog. You can dock in with each other on a weekly basis to see how it is all shaping up and whether changes and adjustments should be made.  When choosing your wedding party, you can present your ideas clearly so they are able to support you and work in with your dream.

Spending that quiet afternoon dreaming big will really make your planning fuss-free and researching your choices much simpler than if you 'wing' it,
