It's Important to Say 'Thank-You'
Tue Aug 30th 2011
There is a real shift in weddings when it comes to the wedding favour. What was once a small gift of chocolates or sugar-coated almonds, is now an area where the sky is truly the limit for saying thank-you to your wedding guests.
Over the past few years, we have come across many unique ways that brides and grooms have expressed their theme of the day or a quirky part of their character in the gifts that guests take home. Some have been slightly practical like personalised sunscreen and parasols for outdoor and beach weddings. Others have been unique to the theme such as a rose bush to take home and plant. A vintage wedding can mean scouring the op-shops for pretty vintage tea cup and saucer sets for the ladies and old match-box cars for the men.
Many couples are now writing notes expressing thanks and informing their guests that they have made a charity donation in their honour.
Choosing the personal touch by creating DIY gifts is a great bonding time for the bride and family as they spend many hours, glueing and sticking, making boxes, or satin roses or baking gingerbread or shortbread.
What about you? How important to you is saying Thank you to your guests? Leave a comment if you want to share your ideas for other brides-to-be who are looking for inspiring ways to say 'Thank-You'.
