Make your Wedding something big in 2012.

Love Australia 2012 is a project that aims to raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) by documenting and capturing unique and beautiful imagery from Weddings all around Australia during 2012. Led by photographer Dave Wall, a fully accredited member of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP), the Love Australia team will travel the length and breadth of the country to capture photographs and video from weddings with the greatest possible range of styles and locations throughout the states and territories. The journey will be reported via a blog-based video and photo diary throughout the course of the year, together with dedicated social network channels. At the end of the journey a selection of best images and video footage captured will be presented in a grand format coffee-table book and DVD presentation.

The book will feature 5-10 images from each wedding in presented in a chronological order throughout the year and will be designed like a magazine style wedding album with a short story about the couple and their most special day. There will also be a selection of landscape and lifestyle style shots from the journey. The DVD will feature short highlights from each wedding and snippets from the video diary.

A copy of the book and DVD will be presented to each of the participating couples and will also available for purchase by the general public, providing a unique snapshot of people, places and customs in Australia in 2012.

CHARITY
All profits from the commercial sales of the book and DVD together with 10% of the proceeds from each Wedding will be donated to the NBCF. With 36 women diagnosed with breast cancer every day in Australia and the frightening statistic that 1 in 9 women will be diagnosed with the disease before they turn 85, it seems a most fitting cause. It is also a cause that is very close to the heart of LoveAustralia photographer Dave Wall. The wife of Dave’s best friend Alex is currently recovering from Breast Cancer. Dave was best man at Alex & Kelly’s Wedding in 2005 and they have two young sons and their struggles have given him the determination to raise as much money as possible for this important cause.

WHY 2012?
2012 has been chosen for the project primarily because it is a leap year, with that one extra day having special significance for Wedding Proposals. We are hoping to be able to capture a really unique Wedding on the 29^th February 2012 and a campaign through social media sites has been instigated to find a suitable couple.

The project is being funded by photographer Dave Wall through a small fee payable by each the project participants. Each couple will pay $500 or $1000 to have their Wedding photographed by Dave of which 10% will be donated to the NBCF. This will include either 4 or 8 hours coverage on their day and a copy of the high-resolution files supplied on disk. These images will all have been finished to magazine standard and can be used for unlimited personal reproduction. As noted earlier, each couple will also receive a copy of the Love Australia coffee-table book and DVD. This represents exceptional value for each participant as this level of coverage from an AIPP accredited professional would normally incur significantly higher costs.

Want to be involved?

The project is looking for couples who fulfil one of three criteria:

1.             They have chosen a memorable or unique location to celebrate their nuptials.

2.             They have a very memorable or unique story to tell.

3.             They have a real passion for photography but limited means.

Prospective participants are invited to submit written email applications to

detailing their Wedding date, Wedding location and a brief synopsis of why they should be selected for the project. We also require a photograph of the couple which can be used for promotional purposes on the web and in print.

Selection will be based on a number of criteria, including the traveling logistics of attendance on that specific date. Once selected, participants will be required to sign the standard AIPP Wedding Photography Contract and pay their fee of $500 or $1000. This fee will be non-refundable should the date be changed or the Wedding cancelled.

For logistical purposes, preference for the first 3 months of 2012 will be given to QLD (except FNQ), NSW, VIC and ACT couples. Couples from SA, TAS, WA, NT and FNQ will be given priority for the period April-September 2012 and the period October-December will be open to all applicants.

Commercial Sponsorship
Whilst Love Australia 2012 is designed to be self-funding, commercial sponsorship, in the form of goods or services, is being actively encouraged and will be generously accepted. In return supporters logos and information will feature in all forms of print, email and web-based communications (with direct links on our website, blog diary and Facebook pages), on our vehicles and will be displayed prominently in the Love Australia 2012 coffee-table book and DVD.

We are seeking commercial support in the following areas:

Marketing/Publicity – Support/Coverage from a national media outlet and/or PR Support from a major Charity
Book Publishing - Self publishing opportunities for limited production
Transportation - Airline Support and/or Motor Vehicle Supply/Support
Accommodation - Hotel/Motel Chain and/or Campsites
Communications - Mobile/Broadband Supplier and Phones and High Spec Laptops/Tablet PCs (Apple preferred)

The greater the commercial sponsorship, the greater the monies that can be returned to the NBCF – it is that simple. The aim is to shoot approximately 50-100 Weddings and return a minimum of $10,000 to the NBCF. If we can raise significant corporate sponsorship the amount donated from each Wedding will be increased.
