One Night in Paris

Their Perfect Romance:
Chad and I attend the same church and we
had known each other for about two years
before we actually started dating and about
six months after that, chad proposed. I am
pretty sure, that my wedding proposal ranks
right up there with the best for the most
romantic proposal. I had gone over to europe
for a holiday and chad flew over and met me
in Rome. We then travelled to paris to stay
with friends. One night we had splashed out
and dined at a lovely restaurant on the eiffel
Tower. but it was later, while we were on the
Arc de Triomphe that chad got down on one
knee and proposed. could it be any more
romantic? To get engaged in the romance
capital of the world with the Eiffel Tower as
a backdrop exceeded anything I had ever
dreamed of.
Their ideal Wedding:
We came home had a
great engagement

celebration, then started planning the
wedding. The ceremony was in the chapel at
The Hyatt where I work and we kept it simple
and straightforward. We just wanted to focus
on standing before God and saying our vows
to each other. An African friend sang as I
walked down the aisle and quite a few guests
said how beautiful the whole ceremony was.
Our reception was at l’esprit On The Water
with the reflections of city lights across the
water as our backdrop. We had a duet playing
music throughout the reception and when it
was time for dancing, we danced a routine,
involving lifts and turns that we had rehearsed

in the weeks before.

Their Unique Choices:
I purchased a simple white gown in raw silk
and then made it mine by adding personal
touches like beadwork, flowers and feathers.
My bridesmaids looked delicious in their
cocktail length dresses. We couldn’t decide if
the colour was kiwi green, or gelati lime.
Derek Smith Wedding photography looked
after all our photography
and was absolutely the right choice for us.
We had photos taken at various locations,
some in the grounds of the Hyatt, some, of
course, on the beach and then some on a
marina boardwalk. With all those locations,
we now have some very creative photos
and beautiful memories. in fact, we had so
much fun, we have booked a Trash the dress
session to make even more memories.
We actually had a bit of time on our hands
before we had to be at the reception and it
was great to just sit quietly in the midst of
everything and catch our breath.
We had our honeymoon at Hayman island,
soaking up the sun and enjoying being

husband and wife.

Their Bridal Insights:
My advice would be to actually plan a break at
some point in the day where you can savour
the moment and quietly enjoy each other’s
company. Our 20-minutes of peace was one
of the highlights of the day. • Thank you for your story -Ideal Bride
