Real Life Wedding - Rebecca and Nathaniel

Sat Aug 7th 2010

Their Perfect Romance:
We met through work and it didn’t take long

for us to know we had something special.

The night nat decided to propose is a funny
story to tell our grandchildren. He’d rung
and asked me to meet him at the beach
straight from work. He had gotten off work
early and picked up the ring and was going
to surprise me but when he was leaving he
realised it would be too dark and turned
around, went back home thinking he would
spell out the proposal in tea light candles in
our bedroom. Very romantic. Unfortunately,
he spilt wax everywhere and realising I
would have been waiting too long already,
grabbed all the candles and threw them in
the cupboard. When we got home, I went to
the cupboard to look for something to wear
and he panicked and before I could get a
good look at all the candles, he fell to one

knee and blurted out his proposal!

Their ideal Wedding:
We had a very special wedding ceremony.
nat’s grandmother is a marriage celebrant
and she was the one who married us. She
has some unique aspects to her ceremonies
and one is the exchanging of roses. it was
a very personal and meaningful moment for
both of us.
We had our ceremony and reception at
the Victoria park Golf club and left all the
details in the capable hands of their events

coordinator.

Their Unique choices:
I had my sister as my flower girl and my
bridesmaids’ gowns were very special and
unique.I know because I designed them.
My dress was from Winnie bridal and I adored
it. When I saw it, the mannequin was wearing
a stunning necklace of Swarovski crystals
that, to me, made the gown extra special.
So that necklace is now mine and of course,

I wore it on my wedding day.

The wedding cake was made by a friend and
was so beautiful and so special that we still
have it. Our guests had cupcakes.
Our wedding photos were something really
special. Our photographer was ben from
XSiGHT photography and Video (infinity
Studios photography). They were amazing.
We’d already had our engagement photos
done by them so, of course got them back
for the wedding. ben asked me to consider
to a ‘Trash the dress’ shoot.I didn’t have to
decide straight away, but once i got over the
initial idea of exposing my beautiful dress to
harsh conditions, nat and I really enjoyed it.
We have absolutely beautiful photos. They
are still on the ‘Trash the dress’ website.
Their Bridal Insights:
don’t stress especially on the day. You can’t
change anything then, so just go with the
flow. Make sure you have what you want, so
you have no regrets and if you are thinking
about trashing your dress. do it! •
