| As directions etc.I had something old, | | something new, something borrowed and | | something blue. My bouquet was lovingly | | made by my grandmother and the flowers | | were white gladioli, now a family tradition | | as my grandmother and my mother also | | had bouquets of gladioli at their weddings. | | champagne and canapés were served on the | | lawn after the ceremony. | | Our reception was on the deck at The Vue | | Restaurant and bar at boonah and everyone | | enjoyed the music from The caxton Street | | Jazz band and an outstanding meal which | | included a tasting platter of six desserts for | each guest.
| | Their Unique choices: | | We really tried to keep the vintage feel. I | | had a uniquely designed 1920s’ style gown | | created by my friend Kathy bensted from | | commotion Fashions. Kathy also created | | individual bridesmaid dresses suited to each | | girl, while I made all our fascinators. James | and his groomsmen continued the 1920s’ effect with chocolate brown pinstripe suits.
| Instead of the usual bonbonniere, I raided the | | vintage shops for months and managed to | | find enough matching tea and saucer sets | | for each guest. They were filled with biscuits | | and complemented my vintage theme and | | my grandmother’s Tea for Two rose gardens. | | So every guest had a ‘Tea for One’ to take | | home. | | Our photographer was Shaun Murray and the | | photos are just beautiful. He really kept our | | theme going and we have some lovely photos | | taken at an historical homestead owned by | | my designer friend. Shaun also put together | | a slide show of the day and while the guests | | were having that yummy dessert, our whole | | wedding day was replayed for everyone to | | enjoy. What made it more special was the | | jazz band ad-libbing musically as the slides | came and went.
| | Their Bridal Insights: | | Just enjoy the day. little things do go wrong | | but then there will be good things that happen | | that you couldn’t have planned, so relax and | | let the memories happen. • |
